First Christmas in the South!

This year for Christmas, we got the best gift of all. A visit from my parents. It really made it a wonderful holiday being able to share it with family. Kylee woke up nice and early. After getting the tree turned on pappa brought kylee down to open gifts. She got a tricycle & slide from grandma and grandpa Kilgore. Amoung everything else one of her other favorites was the jumbo lego's from Grammie and Pop. She has fun putting them together and taking them apart. Although her feet don't quite reach her peddles yet on the bike, she has alot of fun when Pappa pushes her really fast around the house.. Good thing for the hardwood floors.

We had a really nice steak dinner thanks to Patricks wonderful bbq skills. Luckily the weather was warm enough to be outside to bbq. Kylee is getting around better and better everyday. She barely ever crawls to anything anymore and if she falls she just gets right back up and walks again. She is saying a few words these days like momma, hi, bye bye, wow, oh, uh-oh, bath, and it even sounded like I love you the other day.. Overall its been a fantastic Christmas and we are looking forward to whats ahead in the New Year.

The Past Couple Months

The past couple months have brought a bit of change to the Davidsons. Early Nov we moved into a new house and are enjoying the new area and fantastic neighbors. Kylee is making huge strides in her walking but is not quite ready to walk all the time. Why would she? Everyone at daycare just adores, spoils and carries her everywhere they go. Its fun to watch all the bonding she has done with not only the teachers but her friends. Kylee is quite the ham these days. She does what we affectionately refer to as "crazy baby" where she shakes her head and roles her eyes. Her teachers told us that she has taught all the other kids in her class "crazy baby". So when they say kylee do crazy baby all the kids shake their heads. She is learning to say hi and bye usually with a wave at the same time. She has started mimicing things we do which is fun, but we must pay close attention to what we do. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving with the Scheck/Carmichael/LaHaye clan. Emily and Josh were nice enough to open up their home to us, and feed us a lovely meal. It was nice to be able to share our first holiday away from california and our immediate family with some extended family. As Christmas is quickly approaching we are looking forward to my parents visit. It will not only be great to see some familar faces but to share Christmas with our loving family. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and hope your holidays are filled with Love and Joy.

Kylee is 1!

Kylee had a wonderful birthday party on Oct 11th, with all our friends and family. We appreciate everyone that was there to share in her big day. She had fun in the jumpy house, playing with all the kids and even eating the frosting! go figure! We really charished the time we got to spend with you all. A huge thanks again to the Rocha's for the use of your home and a super huge Thanks again to Gary & Sue for opening up your home to us for 5 days. We loved getting to spend the time with you while we were there.

See you soon!

We are so excited to see everyone in just over a week. I maybe hobbling around as I might have fractured my foot. Poor Patrick has been playing Mr. Mom, Dad & Dr. for the last few days and will be ready for a beer.. By the way in the state of Georgia you can't purchase alcohol on a sunday.. Who Knew.. Not the Davidson, who brought the beer up to the counter yesterday and they looked at us all crazy... lol oh well. Poor Patrick had a harder time getting that concept through his head! Again, can't wait to see you guys soon!

We Made it!

Well we made it all safe and sound. We took off from California on Sept 3rd and made it all the way to Flagstaff AZ. It was a long 13 hours but luckily I had my sister to help me with the ride, and dad was there to keep Patrick company. Kylee did great for the first 9 hours, of course with mulitple stops. Once we hit that 9 hrs she was ready to get out of the car for the night, as we all where. Unfortunately we had 4 more hours to go. Once we got there she went right to sleep and the rest of us followed not to long after. The next day we got on the road by about 7:45 am and made it to Amarillo TX, by early evening. The day was only about 8-9 hrs so it felt like a breeze compared to the first day. From there we made it to the middle of nowhere Arkansas and where in need of a nice cold beer. Well with the luck we have we ended up in a dry county so no beer for us! From Arkansas we headed to Mt. Juliet TN, just outside of Nashville where spent the afternoon and night with my Uncle Greg, Aunt Lori & cousin Stephen. Uncle Greg was nice enough to get the boat out and take us for a trip to the lake. Patrick got in some wakeboarding, Wake Surfing & single ski time. I got in some crashing on the wakeboard time, but it was great to be out of the car and on the water just relaxing. Finally on sunday we headed down to Smyrna GA to our new home. We were so excited to get there. Our furniture arrived on wednesday which ended up being alittle bit of a hassel, but it all worked out. The moving truck was too big to pull into the gated community so Patrick and the 2 moving guys shuttled our stuff from the truck to the house using Patricks truck. They started at 9 am and finished around 6 pm. While they moved the stuff to the house, dad and I unpacked the kitchen. It was nice to have that all done and put away. Made it somewhat feel like home. From that point we have just been trying to get settled and familiar with the area. We really love our location as we are close to everything we need. Dad stayed until last saturday to help us get things done, which was an amazing help! At this point he still hasn't made it back home but is working his way across the country and visiting with family along the way.. Luckily for him the trip home is by plane instead of car! We started work this week and Kylee started daycare. She is now at the daycare we were hoping for and loving it. We are almost through with our first week of work and are also enjoying getting to know a new office and new coworkers. I took pictures along the way. Some are not so good at 75 miles an hour, but others turned out better than I thought. I tried to get a picture of every Welcome to sign as we entered each state but unfortunately Oklahomas is blurry and I missed Georgia completely.. Oh well I guess thats the way it goes. Thank you all for your love and support over the last month as this transition in our lives has taken place. We love and miss you all and hope to see you all soon! Thanks again to Niki & Dad for coming along on our journey!

Almost time!

Well Sept 3rd is quickly approaching. The stress level is beginning to rise. We still have so much to do and its so hard trying to work and pack and take care of a very mobile 10.5 month old. By the time we get home from work we only have an hour with Kylee to play, bathe & eat then its off to bed. At which point we scarf down dinner and then we are too tried and unmotivated to do any packing. All month we have been on the go every weekend trying to say our goodbyes and it has finally taken its toll. Unfortunately today Patrick woke up with a fever and aches.. Couldn't have come at a worst time, but hopefully it won't be passed along to Kylee and I. Thankfully my parents will be here on saturday morning and will be able to help watch Kylee while Patrick and I hammer through the rest of the packing.. I will be so glad when we are all finished. Then the fun part will begin! The road trip with a baby and animal for 2430 miles... Aren't you all jealous? :) Anyhow thats the update on the Davidson front.. Hopefully we will be able to post some pictures we will take along our trip! Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers!

Ready for the Road!

As most of you have probably heard, The Davidson's are moving to Atlanta! We are super excited and scared about this new adventure! We are transferring with our current company. They made us an offer we couldn't refuse! Its going to be along 2400 mile drive with an 11 month old, a dog and a kitty but we are up for the challenge. Luckily my dad will be coming with us to keep us company and help with the driving. We have to drive both cars but luckily we have a moving company taking our stuff. We plan to make lots of stops and get lots of pictures for Kylee to look at when she is older. We appreciate all the love and support we have been given with this huge life changing event. It was a difficult decision but we think it will be a great one! Hope you all can come visit, we will have plenty of room! We leave California Sept 3 and hope to be in Atlanta by Sept 8. Lots of packing to do in the next month but hope to get a chance to see most of you before we hit the road! As you can see Kylee is ready for the trip!

Davidson's Camping Trip

We took Kylee on her first camping and boat trip this past weekend. I can't believe how well she did. I think she is meant to be on a boat. Once the boat was in motion she would just lay back and fall asleep. It was quite amazing.. She was such a good girl. Her best friend Elli did so good too. We all had a blast wake boarding, riding the wave runner and just relaxing in the sun. But as usual we are happy to be home. We also had a great visit with Uncle Art. Patrick enjoyed beating him at poker again.. Thanks to everyone that we were able to spend time with and make this a great first vacation for our little girl!

Poor Baby!

So my baby girl has had 2 bouts of pink eye in both eyes in a week and a half time as well as a rash, cough and a stuffy nose.. The poor thing has been so sad and mellow. All she wanted was for us to hold her. She was up all night friday night again only wanting to be held. Luckily no fever ever appeared! By saturday afternoon she seemed to be doing much better. Even spent quite abit of time outside in the warm weather.. Fresh air always seems to help.. But even while feeling sick she still managed to laugh and give us lots of smiles and love. I will be so happy when she is back to her happy self. I stayed home from work on friday to take care of both Kylee and Patrick.. Now it has caught up with me.. I have no voice and for me that is hard cause I love to talk! Hopefully the Davidson will all be feeling in tip top shape here shortly.

Kylee's 6 months Old!

Friday Kylee turned 6 months old! Last saturday we took Kylee to the park for the first time. She absolutely loved the swings. I wish we could have stayed longer but being 90 degrees outside made it difficult to have her out for too long. Those of you still receiving snow, don't be jealous. It was a beautiful weekend!! ha ha ha :) On sunday being another 90 degree day I bought Kylee a little plastic pool to cool off in. However our daughter is not a fan of cool water so she just screamed as Patrick tried to set her down. Next time we will have to set it in the sun for a few hours to warm up before we try again. Yesterday Kylee had her 6 month check up at the doctor. Everything went well. She is growing like a weed. She now weighs 19 lbs 5.3 oz and is 26.5 inches long. She is in the 95th percentile. The doc has told us to go ahead and start feeding her 3 meals a day. She is going to love that as she loves her food. She had her last round of shots too and of course screamed at the top of her little lungs.. This time she even screamed when she saw the nurse afterwards. Poor baby girl. She was pretty grumpy yesterday but woke up this morning in a much better mood. I am so glad we have another 6 months before we have to go through that again!!!! Oh my that means in 6 months she will be a year old.. The time is flying by way to fast!!!!!!!!!

First trip alone!

Well this past weekend Patrick and I took our first trip alone. Kylee stayed with my parents for the weekend. I was more worried about them and the lack of sleep that they would be subjected to. Poor dad had to watch her all by himself on friday. I still have plenty of days where being alone all day with her is hard for me but he survived! Patrick and I escaped to Vegas for the weekend. Generally when going to Vegas you plan to drink and gamble and Party like the good ol days. This trip just reminded us how old we are truely getting. All we did was eat, have a few drinks, hang by the pool, eat some more and do some walking.. The highlight of the trip was sadly going to bed at 8:30 pm! How old are we??? Clearly older than we both were the last time we partied it up in Vegas. We both missed Kylee terribly and woke up several times a night. The only thing that made the trip bearable was knowing that she was in the best hands possible. We got home from Vegas early sunday morning and rushed up to Sonora to see her, only to get there when she was napping. As soon as she woke I was quick to go get her and see my beautiful precious baby girl that I missed sooooo much. I am so glad that Patrick and I got a chance to get away and have some alone time but we were so excited to get back and see Kylee. Now that the first overnight trip is over with I hope it gets easier the next time... Not sure how quickly the next time will come about as I need time to recover from this trip!

Easter '08

Kylee celebrated her first Easter with her Grammee and Pops and Uncle Mark & Auntie Hailey & Family. We had a nice relaxing time in Sonora. It was nice to get a chance to catch up on Grammee & Pops trip to Europe and see all the great pics. It was a pretty mellow Easter with Church and Lunch but always a good time. Kylee took a nice long nap and missed the easter egg hunt with her cousins, but thats ok next year will be much more fun. Its always fun to get a chance to dress her up!

5 months

Its hard to believe how quickly time is flying. Yesterday Kylee turned 5 months. She is such a wonderful baby girl. Always happy, smiling and laughing. She has finally become adjusted to daycare. Every night when I pick her up our daycare lady tells me what a wonderful girl she was. She loves to watch the other kids play. She is working on sitting up on her own. Not quite there but really close. She has even been pulling her legs up in the crawling position when she is on her belly. Its scarey to think she will be crawling here in no time at all. She is loving her cereal and is learning to drink from a sippy & regular cup already. Before I know it she will be 13.. Feels like tomorrow. The other night I had her laying on my lap and she started to get irritated because she doesn't like to lay back and she pulled herself up into the sitting position just using her little abs.. Patrick and I couldn't believe it.. I wish I had her abs!! She is so much fun and getting to see more and more of her little personality coming out is a blast. We really couldn't have hoped or prayed for a more wonderful baby! We will be taking her 5 month/St. Pattys picture this weekend. Once we do I will post it!

Survived & 3rd Times a Charm!

Well yesterday was my first day back to work. I survived. Our sitter text messaged me once during the day to let me know Kylee was PERFECT, which of course helped. She did great. Played with her toys, took naps, ate and watched the other kids play. By the time I left work however I was ready to see her and couldn't get there fast enough. Today I am working from home which is nice. One day at a time is my motto these days.

So Kylee tried rice cereal for the 3rd time on monday night. The first 2 times she wasn't liking it at all, but on monday it was a whole different story. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. She couldn't get enough of it. She would open her mouth for the spoon, stare at it and laugh. She laughed pretty much the whole time she ate. Not quite sure what she was laughing at but it was too darn cute. We tried it again last night and again she ate it up and laughed. Can't wait to eventually try the other foods.

It's Offical

Well today is my last friday on maternity leave. On tuesday I will be returning to work for the first time since the middle of september. I am not looking forward to leaving Kylee all day long. Although she will be in good hands while we are working, it is still more than alittle nerve racking. The anxiety I have had the last few days is like nothing I have experienced before. Everyone tells me the first couple days are rough but that it will get easier everyday. I certainly hope so. Its hard to imagine not seeing her smiling face all day or hearing her squeals of delite. I will even miss her sad little tears. The only thing that makes this new chapter some what bearable is that I love our daycare provider. She is amazing with Kylee and the other children she takes care of. Being home with Kylee the last 4.5 months has been the most challenging and rewarding time of my life. I am very happy that my work had such a great maternity leave program that allowed me to spend so much quality bonding time with her. Now back to the working world I must go.

4 months

Kylee had her 4 month check up today.. It went great other than those darn shots. I swear it breaks my heart when she screams like that. She weighs 15 lbs 4.8 0z (90%), 24.5 inches long (75%). We have finally been working on getting her into her own room and bed. Last night was her third night in her room and it went great. She slept from 7:45pm until 5:40 am (10 hours). Then ate and went back to sleep from 6:10am to 8:45 am. I have to say I have been dreading putting her in her room, but now that we have started Its been wonderful. Patrick and I have a few hours in the evening to ourselves now. We have put her on really good routine and she is adapting quite well to it.. I highly recommend the Baby Whisper book to anyone that has a new baby. Not all the suggestions work for everyone but when you find the ones that work for your baby what an amazing difference. I do have to say that I said we would never use a video monitor as people have survived for hundreds of years with out them, however a friend lent us hers and it has put my mind and heart at ease. I was so worried about SIDS and now I can see that she is breathing with out having to go in and disturb her. So glad I swallowed my pride... The doc said today that she is doing really good and hitting some of her milestones early. He predicted she would be an early walker.. (An over achiever much like her pappa.) We can also start her on rice cereal at any time.. I can't believe how fast she is growing. I know everyone says it goes quickly but you don't realize how fast it truely does go......

So Many Firsts!

Little Missy is growing up. Not only is she now 15 lbs 3oz but she is hitting her milestones. It seems as though its happening all over night. Yesterday she hates being on her tummy, today she is pushing up like a big girl. Yesterday she just lays flat on her back, today she lifts her head and doesn't want to be in any position but sitting. Last night she slept through the night... And finally the best of all to end the day.... She laughed her first laugh. It was the best sound ever.. I think it made both Patrick and I cry. I can't wait until she is laughing all the time.. A sound that will brighten our day no matter what.
