Where does the time go???

Well I don't know where to even begin. It is hard to believe its been almost a year since my last update. So many things have happened in our lives, good and bad. All of which we have learned from and grown from.

It was shortly after my last post last September that I started to notice Makenna was not putting pressure on her legs. At her 9 mo check up I talked to her doctor and she could see the lack of strenght in her legs. She sent her to a physical therapist to be evluated. When we say the PT they recommended she come twice a week for 6 months. This is when our long journey began. After being in PT for a couple months the therapist recommended seeing a neurologist. My poor baby had countless test done. Blood work, MRI's, etc. Thankfully they found nothing other than Hypotonia which is low muscle tone. She did have an episode that landed us in the ER with her having a rapid heart beat, lethargic and unresponsive for a brief amount of time. They never where able to find out what caused it but we are thankful it has not happened again.

Makenna was in PT twice a week until May at which time they dropped it to once a week in june to now once a month. She has been progressing wonderfully. She went from not crawling or standing to now walking and even trying to do a little bit of running.. All though she is still wobbly on her feet, it is amazing to Patrick and I how far she has come. She was prescribed something called Sure steps for her feet and ankles to give stability. Her therapist is so pleased with her progress that she thinks once she has grown out of the ones she has she will not need a replacement pair. Most of her time walking is without her sure steps which to me is fantastic cause it means she is gaining the strength she needs with out the support.

She is a strong willed and funny little girl. She has an amazing personality and a love that is so sweet and tender but an attitude that I think runs in the family. (Patrick's side of course!) :)

Kylee has been an amazing girl this last year. With all the stuff going on with Makenna she has shown little to no jealousy. She did love going to Makenna's therapy sessions because she got to play with all the toys. She is over joyed every time Makenna stands or walks.. She gets so excited and tells her she is so proud of her.

Kylee had her first year of ballet and absolutely loved it. She had a recital in May and as you can imagine with 3 yr olds, it was fun to watch.. They all did amazing and she is looking forward to another year of ballet. In addition this year she will be starting her first year of soccer. As you all know this is the year patrick has been waiting for.. His first child following in his foot steps.. He will be coaching Kylee's soccer team. Luckily for us the soccer fields are behind our back yard so not far to go. It will be interesting to see if she ends up favoring soccer or ballet since she is my girlie girl!

Patrick this last year had his gall bladder removed in october. It was causing him such pain and we are so happy that thing is gone now! Both my sister and my Mom came to Atlanta at separate times to help with his recovery. I don't know what I would have done with out them.

Patrick unfortunately was also laid off from his job in January. Although this was a rough time in his and our lives I have to say it just showed what an amazing man, husband and father he truely is. He didn't sit around and collect unemployment until he could find something he wanted to do. He went out and he got a job as a restaurant manager. He had to work rediculously long and hard hours and rarely saw the girls. He would have to be at work some days at 5 am and not get home until after their bed times or he would have to work until 3 am. Its a crazy business and one not condusive to having a family, but he did what he had to do to feed his family and pay the bills.

Luckily God blessed him with a job oppurtuntiy that allowed him to get back to work/life balance. He is a manager of operations at a company called Mail Centers Plus. They are outsourced by major corporations to handle their mail service, reproduction graphics along with various other services. He currently is on site at the Coca Cola Corporate headquarters here in Atlanta. He is enjoy his new job and building great relationships. He has a soccer tournament in Santa Cruz in Aug where he will get to play once again with all his Visalia soccer buddies. He is looking forward to it!

As for me.. well what can I say, other than I have been very busy. It has been an emotional year and I feel like I am finally starting to relax a bit. Patricks mother and Step Dad came for a visit to see the girls in early May. It was nice for them got get some bonding time. I know the girls really enjoyed the visit. My parents also came for a visit just after patricks. They were able to be here for my birthday as well as Kylee's first recital. It was a blessing to have them here. We were able to get away to Florida over Memorial weekend and spend some time with our friends and family. We got to see our cousins the Ottes family at Downtown Disney and went to the pier to send them off on their Disney Cruise. We spent some time with Kiki and Max at the beach too. It was a great weekend and just what I needed.

Now that you are all caught up, I will try not to let my posts be so few and far between.

Here are a few more recent pictures of the girls!

Summer is over and Fall begins!!

Well we had a great summer and finished it up with a trip to Florida. We got to visit with Kiki and Max at their new place on the florida coast. It was both Kylee and Makenna's first time to the beach and they both loved it. I know some of you californian's will beg to differ, however the beach's on the East Coast totally blow California's coast line out of the water. From the sand to the water its amazing!

Anyhow, while in Florida we made a day trip to DisneyWorld. Kylee got the entire Princess experience. From her hair and makeup being done by her fairy god mother to her princess dress, crown, tiara, shoes and magic wand. Yes, she had both a crown and tiara.. She loved every minute of it. She was slightly overwhelmed when she saw herself for the first time but quickly adjusted to it. Everywhere we went at DW they called her princess. She got to ride her first roller coaster and loved it and just wanted more and pappa took her on the tea cups. We were hoping to do its a small world but unfortunately it was under construction. Makenna was a trooper. It was super hot and clearly she was too young for any of it but she did great. We went to watch the Monsters Inc show and that was the only point she had an issue.. She didn't like all the people screaming and laughing.. Every time the audience started to scream or laugh she started crying. So I took her outside so kylee, kiki and patrick could enjoy the show.Kylee got to meet all the princess and Mickey and Minnie.. She was in heaven. All and all it was a fantastic day despite the heat. The following day makenna cut her first tooth, so it was a big weekend for her too.

Thanks to kiki and Max for hosting us for the long holiday weekend. We had such a great time and it was hard to leave. We love your place and can not wait to come down for another visit.

Patrick had a boys trip to Washington DC with Mark, Jake, Zack and Max. Sounds like they had a great time and didn't get into too much trouble. Or atleast the story goes! I am looking forward to my upcoming girls trip to Vegas at the end of the month with Angie and Donya... This will be my first get away from both girls..It maybe hard at first not to see them for 4 days but it will be a great trip for sure!

Kylee's 3rd birthday is just around the corner and it is hard to imagine my baby girl is getting so big and Makenna will be 1 before we know it. This past year has just flown by.

I'm not sure what is in store for the Davidson Family this fall and winter but I am looking forward to whatever God has in store..

It finally happened!

Kylee is potty trained!!! Wahooooooo.. I am positive there will be accidents along the way but my baby girl is finally in big girl panties! I have to say that of course Patrick and I are way more excited about this than she is.. But she loves how excited we get everytime she potties!!!

On another note we have moved Makenna from the baby carseat into the big girl carseat. Still facing backwards, but I was over carrying the other and we feel this one will stay cooler (temp wise) for our trip up north! I feel like my girls are growing up so fast!!

The Last 6 months

Well I have to start off by apologizing for not updating the blog for the last 6 months. I just had no desire to get it done. I will try and make this as short as possible to get you all updated on the goings on of the Davidson family. Makenna Grace made her arrival just as scheduled on January 11,2010. It was a great delivery. She was a little peanut at just barely 6lbs 1oz. Kylee was amazing with her, she just gave her lots of love and has continued to be an amazing big sister. We could not have hoped for it to go any smoother! My parents and sister where there for the delivery this time which made it even more special. Im glad she came when she was supposed to so no one missed it.
I enjoyed my time off with Makenna. We got to have alot of bonding time while kylee remained in school. Once my maternity leave was over it was much harder for me to return to work this time. I felt the need and the want much more this time to stay home, however its just not in the cards at this point.
Just last month we were able to make it back to California for a 2 week visit. We hadn't been back as a family in almost 2 years. It was great to see our friends and family but it definitely made us miss everyone that much more. We were able to spend a week in Sonora and visit my family and see our niece Alex graduate high school. It was also the first time most had got to meet Makenna. We are so happy we were able to spend the time with everyone.
The following week we headed down to Visalia to spend some time with Patricks parents and his friends. We stayed with our dear fiends the Lorenzi's. Kylee had a blast playing all week with Emma (6) and Lily (3). The Lorenzi's hosted a bbq with all Patricks friends.. It was a great time and made it much easier on us to see everyone. We made it safely back to Atlanta with only a few issues. Makenna got the flu just before we left california. I was the only other one that caught it.
We have been spending time with our friends swimming and going to the lake and we are looking forward to our up coming trip to Illinois for Mike and Jenny's wedding. We can't wait to see everyone up there. So hopefully that sums it up for the last 6 months.. I will post some pictures soon.

38 weeks

So just a quick update. We are 38 weeks today and only 6 days left until Makenna arrives. We are hoping she holds on long enough for my parents and sister to be here this time for the delivery. So far so good. I am having alot of cramping but it comes and goes. Patrick is at work and kylee is at school and I am trying to take advantage of the peace and quiet. Its hard for me to imagine that in less than a week I will be a mother of 2 beautiful little girls! I think Kylee is starting to figure out things are changing. She has been an extreme momma's girl lately.. I am cherishing every second she cuddles with me. She is a joy to have as a daughter and I hope Makenna is half as lovely as Kylee and I will be the happiest mom ever!

T Minus 3 weeks

But Im definitely not counting! :) Im more than ready for miss Makenna to arrive.. Patrick has made a prediction of Jan 4 @ 3am. My C-section is Jan 11 @ 10am. My doctor thinks we will make it to the 11th and since patrick does not they have a friendly bet. If we do not make it til the 11th my doc will be providing us with a nice cold 12 pack. If we do make it til the 11th he told patrick to have a bottle of tequila in hand when we arrive at the hospital.. Obviously he won't receive it prior to my surgery! :) I only have 1 more day in the office and thursday I will be working from home! Its so nice to see the end in sight. These days I am very uncomfortable, and getting little sleep. We have prepared Kylee the best we can the rest is up to her.. We are hoping there will not be too many jealous moments but we can't predict! We didn't send out Christmas cards this year, but we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We look forward to sharing the news of Makenna's arrival!
