Kylee's First Christmas - 2007

This Christmas was a very special Christmas. The best present of all was Miss Kylee. Patrick and I couldn't have wished for anything more special than Kylee. Auntie Niki and Grammee and Pops came to see Kylee on the 22nd. It was nice to have everyone together even though it was a quick visit. Auntie Niki and Uncle Max got Kylee a Newborn Cabbage Patch Kid. Its so cute and tiny. Luckily Kylee is bigger than her new baby doll (Lisbeth McKenna).. It seems as though Niki, Mom & dad and myself were all on the same page. As I told patrick I wanted to get Kylee a Cabbage Patch kid. Well turns out Grammee and Pops got her one also (Jenna Wendy). This one is much different from the one Auntie Niki and Uncle Max got her.. This one can lick her ice cream. Its the 25th year anniversary one.. Both are super special and I can't wait for her to play with them. It was a fun christmas morning. Kylee woke up at 5:30 am. We got up and made coffee and fed. Then we got the room ready, turned on the tree lights and woke up everyone else at 6:30 am. Its a tradition to open gifts while its still dark out. We had a great christmas meal at my brothers house. Although he was sick it was nice to spend time with the family. Unfortunately that night Kylee got a fever and we had to take her to the emergency room at 3am. It was a long hard night, between the blood being drawn, the x-rays and the shot. Very emotional for both Patrick and I. Luckily mom was there for support. Turns out Kylee had an ear infection. All the other tests came back normal.. She has been on some antibiotics and it is doing much better. It as been easy to give her, her meds as she just gobbles it up.. I think we all remember the pink bubble gum flavor med we took as a kid.. Anyhow despite the trip to the emergency room it was a great Christmas. We are already looking forward to next year when she can open presents and play with the paper! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Happy New Year!

Kylee's First Flight

We took Kylee on her first plane flight to the midwest. She got to meet lots of family on both mine and patricks side. On the flight to Chicago she did absolutely amazing. She slept the whole way, not a peep out of her. I was worried about her ears but she was amazing. The gentlemen sitting across from us was amazed at how well she did. We spent the week visiting with family with a quick over night trip to Minnesota to meet Patricks family.. Again she did amazing on the 5 hour drive each way. She had her first experience of the Mall of America.. I can see why people make that place a vacation spot. Its huge. Despite Kylee and Patrick catching a cold it was a great trip and wonderful to see the family.. Oh lets not forget about the -4 degree weather and lots of snow.. It was quite an experience.. Luckily we got out in time last night (with a short delay) before the Ice Storm blew in... Thanks again to all our family for making our visit such a wonderful time. We love you all and hope to see you again soon!

7 Weeks and First Shots

Well today Kylee had her first round of shots since she left the hospital.. I really wonder who it hurts more, The Mothers Heart or the babies legs.. Its tough not to hurt when your baby is hurting so much.. She has had a hard day but thank god for Tylenol.. Its good she got them done this week as we are preparing for our trip to Illinois. We are very excited to head out next week to see my family and patricks parents & brothers family. Its so amazing to me how fast time flys and how much they grow. Kylee is now 11 lbs 8 oz and 22.25 " long. She is in the 75% for her height and the 50% for weight. Doc says everything is on track..

Luckily no more shots for 2 months......

5 Weeks Old & Chubby

Kylee is now 5 weeks old.. I can't believe how fast she is growing.. Not only in length but look at those cheeks.. She is finally filling in.. Patrick was in Chicago for 4 days, so Auntie Niki flew out to spend that time with me and Kylee. It was great having the help and the company. Poor Niki didn't get much sleep at night. Kylee is still sleeping alot during the day and is more awake at night. I am working on keeping her up as much as possible but its been difficult. We have started giving Kylee the bottle. Patrick gave her the first one before he left and she took it right away.. Auntie Niki gave her the next one.. She is doing great. Patrick got back very late last night but it was wonderful to finally have him home. Next week Kylee will be getting her first round of shots. I am not looking forward to that.. I think it will be harder on me than her. Its so exciting that we are already celebrating her first holidays. I can't believe how fast the holidays are upon us.. Anyway.. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Kylee's First Halloween

So this week we took Kylee to the pumpkin patch to pick out her first pumpkin. Clearly it was more fun for Patrick and I but it will be nice to have pictures to show her some day. On Halloween we dressed her up as a beautiful Butterfly. We visited with our neighbors and passed out candy. We can't wait for next year to take her trick or treating with our friends and their kids. Maybe we can even get Patrick to dress up next year! On Halloween we took Kylee to her second doctor appt. She did great, everything checked out! She has gained 2 lbs since her last appt and grew and inch and a half. She is now 8 lbs 12oz and 21 in long. She is getting such cute chubby cheeks and finally starting to fit into more clothes.. She also graduated out of the newborn diapers and into size 1. Patrick headed back to work yesterday, so we went and had lunch with him, that way it broke up the day for both him and I. I got to visit with everyone at work. It was great to see everyone. Kylee slept the whole time we were there even being passed to several different people. Its been a great 3 weeks and we are looking forward to the next several months to see how she grows and changes.

2 Weeks Old

Hi guys,

Today Kylee is 2 weeks old and changing everyday. Over the last 2 weeks she has learned to projection puke on both Patrick and I. She has had atleast 10 poopy diapers aday. She sleeps all day long and has only kept us up all night one time.. Which is great. We have been enjoying her so much. Patrick is amazing with her. He changes more diapers than I do. He gets up in the middle of the night and changes her and gives her to me to feed. Then burps her and puts her back to sleep. He has been an amazing Pappa and a great help to me. It will be hard when he goes back to work next week. Our friends Tony & Angie came by for a visit. It was great to see them and for them to meet Kylee. Wish they lived closer!! So far her eyes are still blue. We are hoping and praying they stay that way. She is starting to get chubbier cheeks so we know she is eating enough.. Anyhow the last 2 weeks have been amazing and we look forward to what comes next.

1 Week Old

Hi Guys-

Today Miss Kylee is 1 week old. Auntie Niki came today from Arizona for a visit. Niki and I gave kylee her first bath. It was quite the experience. She screamed alot but she survived. Niki did a great job. Kylee is latching on great and eating more and more each day. She is sleeping all day long and most of the night. We still have to wake her up to feed and change her diaper. We took our first adventure today to Costco. She did amazing. She sleeps through all kinds of noise. I on the other hand didn't do quite as well. Alittle too much walking for me. We got home and I layed down and felt much better. Guess I need to take it a bit slower.. Yesterday we had lots of vistors. Kylee got to meet Grandma Kilgore and Grandpa Kilgore for the first time. She really enjoyed getting to spend time with them as they live over 4 hours away. Our friend Tracie also came by for a visit to meet Kylee. Tracie was nice enough to bring us a yummy dinner and fantastic cupcakes. (Patrick tried to hog all the cupcakes) Thanks again Tracie! Ok well time to feed the little monster! Will update again later.

Hi All-

On Thursday Oct 11th my water broke at 2 am.. At that point it was a mad dash to get stuff together and head to the hospital. Of course I hadn't packed since I thought I still had a week before she would be here.. Just goes to show you should ALWAYS pack early. Anyhow got to the hospital at about 2:30 am. They got me into the C-Section prep room and they confirmed my water had indeed broke but I was not dialated at all so its a good thing I was have a C-Section otherwise it would have been MANY hours... They got my into surgery around 3:30 and Kylee was born at 4:06 am. She was 7 lbs 1.9 oz and 19.5 inches. She has since lost alittle bit of weight so she is about 6 lbs 9 oz now but gaining weight. It was an amazing experience. I can't believe she is finally here. Of course being the proud parents we are, we think she is the most beautiful baby girl in the world. We are excited for each of you get to meet her.. Thanks to all of you who have already come to see her and for all the well wishes. We will post again soon.

2 Weeks

Hi All,

Well we have 2 weeks today left to go.. Oh boy am I ready. Its definately getting harder and more uncomfortable each day. I have my last pre-natal appt coming up on monday. After that I just have the pre-op left. It's very exciting to know that Kylee will be here so soon. I am finally starting to have Braxton Hicks contractions, which aren't very comfortable.. I am having a few other signs as well that it is getting close. Im not quite sure that it has totally set in that we will have our baby girl in our arms in no time at all. I visited a friend yesterday that had her baby boy 2 weeks ago.. He was so cute and so small. Its hard to believe I have a little human in my belly that is about that same size.. Her son was 7 lbs something when he was born but is now over 8 lbs in 2 weeks.. I think Kylee is going to be atleast 8 lbs when she is born but patrick thinks she will be 7 something.. Its time for everyone to start placing their bets.. I will see on monday if I can get my doc to give a guess on how big he thinks she is! He also didn't want to check me for dialation at my last appt for fear of putting me into labor.. So he probably won't check me on monday either, however I am very curious if I have started dialating... I will let you know how the next appt goes..

4 weeks and counting

Hi All-

We offically only have 4 weeks left until Miss Kylee arrives. We are very excited and anxious all at the same time. We had our hospital tour last night and it made it that much more real. This has been my first week off work and not surprisingly I am bored already :) I have been napping alot which is good since I don't sleep much at night, and I know that will only get worse once Kylee is here. Thankfully my mom has agreed to be here to help when we come home from the hospital which will be nice. Patrick will have the first couple weeks off of work to get some bonding time with his baby girl. I am now going to the doctor once a week. Kylee has been very active during the day and pretty mellow at night.. Lets hope that continues. Only 3 more appointments before my pre- op. Its just hard to imagine she will actually be here in no time at all. Im feeling rather huge but i am actually measuring exactly what i should. We are working on Riley (our pug) and Harley (our kitty) trying to prepare them as much as possible prior to her getting here. I have been letting them sniff diapers which has been quite funny. I put the carseat base in my tahoe today incase she comes early.. I like to be prepared, and at the hospital they made it a point to make sure we knew how to do it prior to going into labor.. So I think we are all set. We are looking forward to each and everyone of you getting to meet Kylee.
